Job Summary

Deliver multi-disciplinary environmental projects within WSP’s Project, Programme Management and PMO community. You’ll support project proposals, build and maintain project plans, cost forecasts, risk registers and schedules, and monitor progress to keep delivery on track and within budget. Partnering with technical leads and senior project managers, you’ll manage change and risk, support contract administration, champion sustainability and net zero outcomes, and work with clients and stakeholders across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the development of project proposals, defining requirements, scope, resourcing, programme and budget for delivery.
•Create and maintain structured project documentation (project plans, cost forecasts, risk registers and schedules) for smaller projects and support Senior Project Managers on larger work.
•Monitor progress and help drive delivery against agreed timelines.
•Manage project costs day-to-day by tracking time, budgets, forecasts and spend aligned to progress.
•Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits are in place and support contract management, change and risk activities; champion environmental and net zero outcomes.

Key Requirements

•Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager within a project or PMO environment in environmental or sustainability sectors.
•Understanding of programme management principles (work breakdown structures, dependencies, critical path) and ability to interpret MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar outputs.
•Commercial awareness managing budgets, tracking performance, and supporting change control; familiarity with Professional Services Contracts (e.g., NEC3/4) is advantageous.
•Confident written and verbal communicator who keeps project teams and stakeholders well informed.
•Working towards or holding membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS).
