Key Responsibilities

•Own and drive a multi-year technical roadmap for the geometric reasoning stack, including B-Rep ingestion/healing, feature recognition, DFM analysis, sub-process routing, pricing signals, and downstream CAM/CAE integration.
•Lead the embedded DFM AI + IQE integration into partner ecosystems (Solid Edge, NX, Designcenter, Teamcenter) and define architecture, geometry contracts, precision/latency budgets for real-time in-CAD feedback.
•Architect and implement the geometric kernel layer (intersection, offset, Boolean, projection, trimming on NURBS) and the resilience layer handling malformed CAD, with rigorous precision and performance contracts.
•Drive DFM and sub-process intelligence by blending classical computational geometry with ML (graph neural networks on B-Reps, point-cloud/voxel encoders) to detect manufacturability risk across CNC sub-processes.
•Translate research into production: publish, patent, or open-source contributions; mentor staff/senior engineers; influence cross-functional roadmaps and hiring.

Key Requirements

•M.S. or PhD in applied mathematics, computer science, mechanical engineering, computational physics, or closely related field; typically 12+ years of progressive experience in geometry, CAD/CAE, or simulation; PhD with 8+ years equivalent.
•Deep expertise in geometric modeling: analytical geometry, parametric/free-form geometry (NURBS), trimmed surfaces, B-Rep topology, geometry healing/repair, robust predicates, high-performance spatial data structures.
•Hands-on experience with geometric kernels (Parasolid, ACIS, CGM, Granite, ShapeManager, Open CASCADE / pythonOCC) and CAD interchange formats (STEP, IGES, JT, Parasolid XT, DXF); knowledge of CAD interoperability and translation.
•Expert-level C++ (C++14/17/20) with modern build systems (CMake), debugging, profiling, and binding generation; strong Python for tooling and ML integration; cloud experience (AWS) for large-scale geometry processing.
•Rigorous grounding in linear algebra, multivariable calculus, numerical methods, floating-point error analysis; familiarity with differential geometry/topology as applied to surface/curve modeling.
