Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently perform HVAC design tasks including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layouts, and system sizing across building types and project scales.
  • •Develop primary HVAC design elements for PS&E packages under general guidance, including technical specifications and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • •Identify design discrepancies, investigate root causes, recommend corrective actions, and complete thorough self-checks prior to review.
  • •Coordinate with structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines to ensure integrated, conflict-free HVAC designs.
  • •Begin direct client interactions to gather requirements and present draft deliverables, and provide day-to-day guidance and technical training to junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • •Minimum 5–7 years of HVAC engineering design experience, with ability to independently execute primary design elements.
  • •Strong HVAC systems knowledge including central air handling units, VAV, chilled water/heating hot water distribution, exhaust/ventilation, and split/VRF systems.
  • •Proficiency in HVAC load calculation and design tools such as Trane TRACE, HAP, eQUEST (or equivalent).
  • •Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 62.1, 90.1, 55, IMC) plus strong communication and analytical/problem-solving skills.
