Job Summary

Estimate materials, equipment, and labor hours for heavy highway construction projects by analyzing project specifications, take-offs, and geotechnical reports. Build project budgets to present to management, identify bid opportunities, and attend site visits and pre-bid meetings. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, support DBE compliance, submit owner questions, and manage bid documents including bid bonds and insurance quotes. If awarded, prepare post-bid documents and operations handoff materials.

Key Responsibilities

•Identify bid opportunities, conduct site visits, and attend pre-bid meetings.
•Analyze take-offs and geotech reports to prepare risk analysis/strategy.
•Solicit subcontractors and vendors and handle questions/scope issues.
•Ensure DBE goals are met and prepare/submit owner questions.
•Prepare bid documents including cost breakdowns, bid bonds, and insurance quotes; support post-bid documents and operations handoff if awarded.

Key Requirements

•Equivalent experience in heavy highway construction estimating (roadway estimating required).
•4-year degree in construction management or civil engineering is desired but not necessary.
•Valid state driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
•Knowledge of HCSS and AGTEK Highway 3D; Microsoft Projects and Microsoft Office are a plus.
•Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management to meet bid deadlines.
