Job Summary

Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation of a generating plant by leading and supervising the plant operations group under the Assistant Plant Manager. Manage operating personnel, plant processes, fuel yard operations for biomass storage/mixing, and safety/environmental compliance reporting to federal, state, and local authorities. Continuously improve operational processes, investigate incidents and forced outages, and align performance goals, budgeting, and communications across operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Direct plant operations and operating personnel to maintain generating requirements, plant efficiency, and safety/environmental standards.
•Develop, implement, and manage operating philosophies and best practices to maximize plant availability, efficiency, and productivity.
•Review and improve operational processes, ensure training and adherence to procedures, and investigate abnormal conditions and incidents.
•Manage biomass fuel yard operations, including safe storage and mixing, supplier relationships, and fuel quality control.
•Develop performance goals, manage staffing/scheduling/training, prepare operational reports and budgets, and coordinate with maintenance on troubleshooting.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 112,000 - 168,000

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 6 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant.
•Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate in a related discipline (preferred) with at least 4 years supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant.
•Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant.
•Thorough understanding of plant operations, generating equipment, biomass fired boilers, and water treatment processes.
•Ability to manage operations programs and maintenance-related tasks that influence overall plant operation and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
