Job Summary

Support the Co-AIMS Hub in developing, establishing, and measuring the environmental impact of AI usage in manufacturing. You will establish and manage sustainability metric reporting, identify appropriate performance measures, and help define the carbon footprint of AI models. The role also includes analyzing data for trends and energy performance, preparing technical documentation and publications, and contributing to research plans, funding bids, and student supervision.

Key Responsibilities

•Establish and manage a reporting framework for overall sustainability metrics and performance for the project.
•Identify sustainability metrics aligned with the Co-AIMS Hub aims and ideals.
•Contribute to establishing the carbon footprint of various AI models to inform decision makers and users.
•Analyze data to identify trends, assess process efficiency, and evaluate energy performance.
•Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and research publications; disseminate findings through publication and seminars.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 36,636 - 46,049 annually

Key Requirements

•A PhD or Master’s degree in Sustainability, computer science, or a closely related field, with relevant working experience.
•High level analytical capability with attention to accuracy and detail.
•Ability to communicate complex information clearly, including preparation of technical reports and publications.
•Fluency in relevant models, techniques or methods, with ability to contribute to developing new ones.
•Strong understanding of sustainability principles and approaches for improving resource efficiency.
