Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to assist design of Flood Alleviation Schemes and Flood Risk Assessments.
  • •Develop water quality models using industry standard software (e.g., MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM).
  • •Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches, considering risks and opportunities.
  • •Lead and input into tenders for projects and framework contracts.
  • •Mentor staff, build client relationships, and collaborate across technical disciplines.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW).
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
  • •Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh waters.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline; professional qualification with CIWEM or similar preferred; scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Anaconda, Ruby) advantageous.
