Job Summary

Maintain and repair mechanical equipment in the flotation plants and gravity concentrators at Kansanshi Processing Plant, helping maximize plant availability and support copper and gold production targets. Work safely and in full compliance with PPE, safety and environmental systems, and standard maintenance procedures. Diagnose equipment faults using specialized tools, execute preventive and breakdown maintenance, and coordinate with maintenance and process teams while supporting new employees’ adaptation to site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Comply with required PPE and perform maintenance work in flotation circuits and gravity concentrators safely, timely, and to quality expectations.
•Execute assigned plant maintenance (fitting) tasks in line with OEM standards and FQM expectations.
•Follow safety and environmental management systems, ensuring risks are identified and managed through JSA, SMPs, PTOs, and good housekeeping.
•Diagnose equipment faults using observation and specialized tools such as vibration pens and temperature guns.
•Participate in preventive maintenance and breakdown work, identifying and eliminating defects, and coordinate with maintenance and process teams to achieve safety, production, and cost KPIs.

Key Requirements

•Craft Certificate in mechanical fitting from a recognized institution (higher qualifications advantageous).
•A Grade 12 school certificate.
•Fully paid-up member of ElZ (Craftsperson).
•Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified mechanical fitter in fixed processing plants related to flotation plants and gravity concentrators.
•Ability to assemble and troubleshoot flotation cells, pumps, screens, thickeners, valves, and pipes; experience with fault problem-solving (e.g., 5 Whys).
