Key Responsibilities

  • •Comply with required PPE and perform maintenance work in flotation circuits and gravity concentrators safely, timely, and to quality expectations.
  • •Execute assigned plant maintenance (fitting) tasks in line with OEM standards and FQM expectations.
  • •Follow safety and environmental management systems, ensuring risks are identified and managed through JSA, SMPs, PTOs, and good housekeeping.
  • •Diagnose equipment faults using observation and specialized tools such as vibration pens and temperature guns.
  • •Participate in preventive maintenance and breakdown work, identifying and eliminating defects, and coordinate with maintenance and process teams to achieve safety, production, and cost KPIs.

Key Requirements

  • •Craft Certificate in mechanical fitting from a recognized institution (higher qualifications advantageous).
  • •A Grade 12 school certificate.
  • •Fully paid-up member of ElZ (Craftsperson).
  • •Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified mechanical fitter in fixed processing plants related to flotation plants and gravity concentrators.
  • •Ability to assemble and troubleshoot flotation cells, pumps, screens, thickeners, valves, and pipes; experience with fault problem-solving (e.g., 5 Whys).
