Own the microbial product strategy and roadmap for sequencing services, establishing Plasmidsaurus as a leader in the microbial research community. Define where the company wins, drive portfolio differentiation across whole-genome and metagenomics offerings, and translate customer and scientific insights into scalable products. Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Commercial, and Lab teams while coordinating positioning, launch plans, and ongoing performance improvements to grow adoption, satisfaction, and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the expert on microbial customers, their workflows, and challenges.
•Develop and own the microbial portfolio strategy and prioritize investments by customer value and business impact.
•Lead customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis, and business case development for new offerings.
•Own the microbial product roadmap from concept through launch and ongoing lifecycle management, partnering with R&D, Engineering, Commercial, and Lab teams.
•Coordinate product positioning, launch plans, and commercial strategy with Marketing and Sales, and improve adoption, customer satisfaction, and revenue based on performance and feedback.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 175,000 - 200,000 annually

Key Requirements

•PhD preferred (or other advanced degree) in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, or a related field.
•At least 5 years of experience launching products or services delivering clear customer value.
•Deep understanding of microbial research, customer segments, and sequencing applications, including bacteria, yeast, viruses, and microbial communities.
•Strong product management fundamentals: customer research, market analysis, prioritization, roadmap development, pricing strategy, and business case modeling.
•Technical familiarity with long- and short-read sequencing technologies, library preparation methods, and downstream data analysis.
