Job Summary

Support the Safety Manager overseeing safety and security for contractors and project personnel on the Long Bridge Project in Herndon, VA. Assist with implementing construction and rail safety programs, coordinating with PMs and contractors to meet VPRA safety requirements, and performing field inspections, audits, and safety training. Document observations, prepare daily reports, support incident/near-miss investigations, and help develop corrective actions and mitigation measures.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the Safety Manager overseeing safety and security for contractors and project personnel on the Long Bridge Project.
•Assist in implementing construction and rail safety policies, procedures, and programs for PMSS and Design-Build teams.
•Coordinate with VPRA project managers and contractors to ensure compliance with VPRA safety requirements and project safety plans.
•Conduct routine field inspections, safety audits, and verify PPE, signage, work zone controls, and adherence to safety procedures.
•Attend daily briefings, document safety observations, prepare daily safety reports, and assist with incident and near-miss investigations including corrective actions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 160,000 - 175,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
•7-10 years of construction safety experience on infrastructure, transportation, heavy civil, or rail projects.
•Experience supporting safety programs on active construction sites with multiple trades and contractors.
•Working knowledge of OSHA standards, particularly 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
•First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
