Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, engineer, and conduct studies for protection systems on the bulk power system, including substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, industrial, and distribution systems.
  • •Develop protection analyses such as electrical model development, short circuit studies, time-current coordination, arc flash, and event analysis with NERC compliance.
  • •Lead teams on client projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • •Develop relay settings and protection philosophy, integrating protective relaying solutions with SCADA systems.
  • •Support infrequent onsite site visits to collect project data and discuss project specifics with clients at the appropriate technical level.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
  • •12+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering Protective Relaying projects for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • •Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
  • •Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
  • •Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to follow health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
