Job Summary

Design breakthrough performance running footwear by creating senior-level concepts from early ideation through prototyping and commercialization. Collaborate with the Altra Innovation Design Team and cross-functional partners across VF (developers, materials experts, product managers, engineers, and testers) to deliver athlete-ready products. Independently lead technical-performance design efforts, pitch concepts to internal/external leaders, and provide team leadership while partnering with manufacturing partners and athletes.

Key Responsibilities

•Create brand-new footwear concepts aligned with seasonal vision and brand DNA and translate them into athlete-ready designs.
•Collaborate across Innovation Design, Product Development, and Product Management to ensure alignment and delivery.
•Pitch and present design concepts at key milestones to internal and external leaders.
•Develop hands-on prototyping and cobbling skills (plus), including building and testing early concepts.
•Provide leadership within the team by sharing expertise and raising the level of others, collaborating with manufacturing partners and athletes.

Salary: USD 96,768 - 120,960 annually

•Proven ability to independently create technical-performance footwear designs with both functional and aesthetic innovation.
•Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills, plus the ability to create detailed 2D tech packs in Adobe Creative Suite.
•Expert knowledge of performance footwear materials and manufacturing processes, including familiarity across men’s and women’s constructions.
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally and flexibility to work extended hours when needed to meet milestones.
