Job Summary

Lead civil site work for transmission and substation projects within AECOM's Energy Business Line. Oversee earthwork, grading, drainage, roads and foundations at substation/transmission sites; review civil drawings; coordinate site surveys (geotechnical/LiDAR); provide technical leadership to site civil engineers; collaborate with electrical teams to ensure on-time delivery and safe handover. Hybrid/remote-friendly with roles across multiple US offices.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
•Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations for substations and transmission lines.
•Review, interpret and create civil design drawings, report discrepancies and provide practical solutions.
•Manage site surveys including geotechnical and ground/LiDAR to assist with determination of transmission line routes and substation layouts.
•Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements submitted by contractors.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
•Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
•Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing.
•Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development and transmission access/alignment.
•Understanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layouts.
