Job Summary

Prepare and manage cost estimates for HVAC Controls projects, translating designs and specifications into detailed scope and pricing packages. Build estimates with system sketches, take-offs, equipment pricing, vendor and subcontractor quotes, and assumptions/exclusions. Lead pre-bid reviews with account managers, identify cost savings and risks, and collaborate with operations to control variations and support bidding decisions. Work onsite Monday–Thursday and choose your work location Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

•Produce cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to support bidding and project pricing.
•Develop detailed scope based on account managers’ design-build scope or plans/specifications for competitive bidding.
•Create detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and points lists.
•Perform take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
•Identify cost savings opportunities and risk items, negotiate vendor/subcontractor prices, and support account managers with outsourcing needs and pre-bid/post-mortem collaboration.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 66,300 - 120,084.99 annually

Key Requirements

•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 3–5 years estimating/engineering/construction management experience, or 5–7 years controls field experience, or equivalent combination.
•Proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and HVAC Systems.
•Working knowledge of construction across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with strong financial and business acumen.
•Proven ability to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail.
•Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
