Write clinical summaries and news for patient and physician audiences by translating new research from journals, professional practice, regulatory sources, and medical conferences. Review and evaluate scientific papers to select studies for specialty coverage, and produce 3–4 news articles weekly. Support enterprise storytelling and special investigations while ensuring accuracy, organization, and adherence to WebMD technical specifications, managing multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

•Write clinical summaries and news for patient and physician audiences using updates from publications, practice sources, regulatory authorities, and medical conferences.
•Review and digest scientific papers from major medical journals to identify studies relevant to a clinical audience.
•Write 3–4 news articles per week based on published studies and research presented at meetings.
•Cover policy issues within a specific specialty and develop enterprise stories as time allows.
•Manage multiple projects concurrently, collaborate with internal editorial/production teams, and meet copy deadlines while adhering to WebMD technical specifications.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/medical writing (or equivalent education and experience).
•Ability to analyze complex data and interpret it for mobile/web applications while maintaining a clinical tone.
•Strong medical literature retrieval and evaluation skills, including familiarity with databases such as PubMed and Ovid and medical conference sites.
•Experience writing for the digital environment and optimizing news using SEO.
•Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plus experience with content management systems and GSuite tools.
