Job Summary

Provide specialized technical support and oversight for fixed-block and CBTC signaling, including review and approval of signal designs, interlocking logic, and mixed-mode block configurations. Coordinate with the CBTC supplier, designer, and NYCT operations to ensure designs and test procedures meet safety and operational requirements. Evaluate relay-based and CBTC subsystem software implementations, support test readiness and field reviews, and track deliverables through integration and acceptance.

Job Function: Administration & Executive Assistance

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical review and approval of block design drawings and documentation for mixed-mode (CBTC and fixed-block) operation.
•Serve as a liaison between the CBTC supplier, designer, and operations for signal design coordination and block approval.
•Review and assess interlocking logic implementation in both relay-based fixed-block design and CBTC subsystem software for operational and safety compliance.
•Review and approve interlocking logic, signal aspects, and control sequence test procedures to confirm compliance with Authority and NYCT requirements.
•Evaluate software state machine logic and support design change assurance for interoperability, safety integrity, and system maintainability during migration to CBTC.
•Track and report on signal design deliverables, test progress, and open design comments.
•Provide assurance that signal design changes maintain interoperability, safety integrity, and system maintainability during migration from fixed-block to CBTC control.
•Support interface alignment and participate in design and field review meetings with NYCT teams.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical, systems, or railway engineering.
•7+ years of progressive experience in fixed-block and/or CBTC signaling system maintenance and/or design.
•Proven experience reviewing, approving, and coordinating block design packages for mixed-mode signaling operation.
•Experience developing or reviewing interlocking logic test procedures and software state machine implementations.
•Understanding of NYCT signal principles, operational practices, and legacy control systems.
