Key Responsibilities

  • •Own mechanical design of the next module/chassis, addressing structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, and documentation.
  • •Implement selected designs in Creo 3D and deliver required drawings and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • •Plan and participate in peer and cross-functional design reviews.
  • •Manage BOM, release, and product change using product lifecycle management tools (Agile).
  • •Support development through thermal-simulation model creation, PCB drawing handoffs, lab prototype testing, and communication of manufacturing issues to CMs (with some supplier travel).

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years’ experience.
  • •Relevant mechanical design experience for computer/network equipment operating in data centers.
  • •Experience with ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes (Agile experience is a plus).
  • •Hands-on CAD experience using Creo 3D (ProEngineer/PTC Creo is a plus).
  • •Ability to perform lab prototype checks, including lifting weight upwards of 50 pounds and fluent English.
