Job Summary

Set up, operate, and maintain equipment to deburr and ultrasonically clean backing materials and high-speed steel wire, then electron-beam weld them to form bi-metal coil stock. Work with sequential production lines, microscopes and optical observation to inspect bead quality, monitor operation, and transfer coils to annealing/holding racks. Follow all safety rules and perform related duties to support continuous, high-quality manufacturing on the 1st shift.

Key Responsibilities

•Set up and operate one or two sequential equipment lines to deburr, ultrasonically clean, and electron-beam weld materials to form bi-metal coil stock.
•Mount and feed coils and wire through deburring rolls, washer, welder, defect detector, and take-up reel; wire completed coils for transfer.
•Adjust welding beam parameters (speed, voltage, amperage) and inspect welds with a microscope to verify bead location, shape, and quality.
•Maintain ultrasonic cleaning equipment (caustic solution and rinse levels) and handle tank/seal/consumable upkeep as required.
•Monitor operation, observe welding through optical lens, make necessary corrections, follow safety rules, and perform related duties as assigned.
