Job Summary

Build and integrate Coinbase’s Tier-0 core cryptography infrastructure on the Core Cryptography team within Security. Own end-to-end design and deployment of highly available services supporting global regulatory compliance, including Multi-Party Computation (MPC). Lead secure infrastructure setup, continuous deployment, and observability to prevent incidents and support catastrophe recovery. Mentor through rigorous code reviews and partner closely with Security, Product, and Policy.

•Lead infrastructure setup, continuous deployment, and observability to proactively resolve production incidents and ensure catastrophe recovery.
•Drive complex integration challenges by implementing secure, resilient infrastructure in a zero-trust environment.
•Serve as a technical mentor by promoting rigorous code reviews, comprehensive design documents, and best practices across the team.
•Partner with Security, Product, and Policy stakeholders to deliver flawless execution on regulatory and cryptographic initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 186,065 - 218,900 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of software engineering experience building highly available, distributed systems.
•Experience with applied cryptography, including Key Management Systems (KMS) or Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), with safe operation in security-critical environments (MPC strongly preferred).
•Extensive programming experience in systems languages such as Golang, Java, C++, or Rust, with ability to operate in a Golang-heavy environment.
•Track record operating Tier-0 or other highly critical infrastructure with strong resilience, observability, and security, including cloud infrastructure as code across isolated environments.
•Experience managing complex end-to-end projects, navigating regulatory requirements, and mentoring team members.
