Senior Dams Engineer (Embankment) leads conceptual to detailed design of water dams and embankments, performs inspections and risk analyses, mentors junior staff, and coordinates multidisciplinary project teams in Panama City, Panama. You will engage in feasibility studies, design drawings, and client liaison, with a focus on dam projects, rehabilitation, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities

•Conceptual to detailed design of water dams, retarding basins, service basins
•Inspection, investigation and condition assessment of existing dams including review and surveillance of monitoring data
•Conduct potential failure mode analyses and risk analyses for water storage and hydropower dams, including identifying and developing potential failure modes
•Project management of multidisciplinary teams and the engagement of AECOM’s operations/finance teams
•Mentoring and technical development of junior staff, supporting them to achieve technical success

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•Experience with embankment dams
•Relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
•Experience in performing inspection, design, and/or engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures
•Bilingual – English and Spanish
