Job Summary

Serve as an individual contributor in the Advanced Materials division, working at the Huntsman Shanghai Campus to develop and improve polymer composite and adhesive solutions. Ensure EHS and compliance with applicable regulations, plan and organize lab and field trials, and coordinate experiments to expand technical know-how. Contribute to technology platform development and produce technical reports, patents, and regulatory documentation across regional and divisional boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure all activities follow Huntsman EHS, corporate compliance standards, and applicable local and national regulations and laws.
•Develop or modify products to meet new application and performance requirements, including polymer composites, adhesives, and sustainable material solutions for automotive, electronics, and power industries.
•Organize project work by setting schedules and priorities.
•Conduct field trials and lab tests for planned new products.
•Coordinate department studies for specific experiments to meet project goals and generate technical know-how, and prepare technical reports, patents, and regulatory documentation.

Key Requirements

•Earn an M.Sc or Ph.D in physical/organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or materials science (Ph.D preferred).
•Have 6-8 years of experience in a technical/research laboratory and/or product development environment in polymer chemistry, including adhesives or encapsulation technologies.
•Advanced formulation experience for epoxy and acrylate adhesives, including resins, hardeners, fillers, tougheners, additives, and photo-initiators.
•Advanced expertise in curing and crosslinking technology, including thermal resistance, substrate bonding, failure modes, reactivity, and processability.
•Advanced knowledge of rheology and chemo-rheology, plus experiments design and data verification.
