Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver synchronous online English instruction (grades 9–12) and develop lessons aligned with school pacing schedules.
  • •Apply K12 curriculum and state/industry learning standards to supplement and enhance provided course content.
  • •Contact students regularly (e-mail/phone), respond to inquiries within about one business day, and maintain positive student rapport.
  • •Monitor and report student academic and pacing progress, generate formal reports, and alert administrators of concerns.
  • •Support students and families through orientations and community activities, and attend virtual staff/academic-focused meetings.

Key Requirements

  • •Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9–12) English teaching certification (required).
  • •Bachelor’s degree.
  • •One (1) year industry experience leading to certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •Strong content and subject-matter knowledge and a shared view of the virtual academy’s mission.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus Microsoft Office and web proficiency.
