Job Summary

Join the Roads team in Glasgow as an Assistant Road Engineer supporting the Performance Audit Group (PAG). You’ll inspect, audit and monitor road asset inventories, assess supplier performance against contracts, and contribute to reports, helping ensure compliance with specifications and contract documentation across UK road projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Inspect, audit and monitor asset inventory collection and updating for a roads network.
•Inspect, audit, and monitor to assess the effectiveness and contractual compliance of Suppliers in respect of inspection regimes set out in Employer’s contracts.
•Issue notices based on site inspections and observations in accordance with Supplier contracts
•Verify that Suppliers records are true and accurate and confirm that works have been carried out in accordance with Specifications and other contract documentation
•Verify that quantities and values claimed by Suppliers are a true record and contribute to reports required by the Employer.

Key Requirements

•HNC/HND in civil engineering or equivalent degree with moderate experience
•Experience inspecting, monitoring and reporting on supplier compliance with contracts, specifications and good practice
•Knowledge of maintenance and construction works associated with roads and structures
•Ability to verify that supplier records are true and that works have been carried out per contract documentation
•Strong reporting and data verification skills
