Job Summary

Design and build Cribl’s customer-facing metric store for high-volume telemetry, powering ingestion, storage, metadata management, and query execution for time-series data. Work on distributed, high-volume backend services and APIs, including storage schemas, high-cardinality dimensions, and retention strategies. Collaborate across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations to shape a new observability capability from architecture through production hardening, while improving performance, reliability, and operational tooling.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build a customer-facing metric store for high-volume telemetry data.
•Implement scalable backend services and APIs for ingestion, storage, metadata management, and query execution.
•Develop time-series data models and storage patterns (high-cardinality dimensions, labels, fingerprints, rollups, retention).
•Analyze and improve query performance, ingestion throughput, storage efficiency, and system reliability.
•Own portions of the software development lifecycle and share on-call responsibilities for production support.

Key Requirements

•Strong experience building backend services in complex, large-scale distributed systems.

•Experience with time-series data, metrics, telemetry pipelines, query systems, or analytical databases.
•Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, plus storage/queries (indexing, partitioning, caching, lifecycle management).
