•Guide engineering teams to ship robust products and infrastructure using technical depth.
•Identify and lead technical initiatives, including future opportunities and risks for commerce.
•Own domain scope and debug complex issues, leading teams out of architectural problems.
•Influence roadmaps and strategy while leveling up engineering craft across Shopify.
•Empower and teach others through engagement, mediation, and coaching.

•Bring creativity and experience to debug issues or implement components with little margin for error.
•Love building reliable platforms that merchants rely on for critical business activities.
•Follow industry and internal trends and help others understand how they affect what Shopify builds.
•Be able to get up to speed quickly on any technical domain or problem.
•Demonstrate strong systems thinking and pattern-matching from past experience.
