Key Responsibilities

  • •Work within the framework set by the teacher and Head of Inclusion/SENCO, supporting students during lessons and providing feedback on learning and behaviour.
  • •Supervise and facilitate individual support aligned to IEP/pupil passport targets, ensuring safety and access to learning activities (including specialist lessons where appropriate).
  • •Provide informal feedback to the named student on progress and achievement under the teacher’s guidance.
  • •Record and share with the teacher and supporting professionals issues of concern and positive feedback about the student’s welfare and achievements.
  • •Communicate with parents via emails and reports based on IEP/pupil passport targets and attend meetings/PD days as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience or aptitude for working with students with special educational needs (SEND), with previous teaching or teaching assistant experience essential.
  • •SEND qualification.
  • •Minimum high school education in English and Math.
  • •Good levels of written and spoken English.
  • •Enthusiasm, commitment, empathy and confidentiality, with strong team-working ability.
