Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide fire protection project design and delivery support from concept through to construction and commissioning.
  • •Design and implement fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, and fire detection and evacuation solutions.
  • •Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to develop integrated fire protection solutions for large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • •Ensure designs meet the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and client standards and guidelines.
  • •Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across a range of projects using wet and dry fire protection system expertise.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer for an engineering consultancy (or extensive design experience with a contractor).
  • •Experience in dry fire protection is highly regarded.
  • •Relevant degree and professional registrations (or eligible to hold), including a pathway to RPEQ.
  • •Understanding of fire suppression systems and design, including fire hydrants, hose reels, portable fire equipment, and fire water supply infrastructure.
  • •Understanding of fire detection & alarm systems and emergency warning/intercom systems (high-level networking infrastructure is highly regarded).
