Job Summary

Create accurate HVAC project cost estimates to support bids and pricing across the Roanoke region. Develop scopes from design-build plans/specs, perform equipment take-offs and pricing, and produce detailed proposals using vendor and subcontractor quotes. Review bid documents for constructability risks, hold pre-bid meetings, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with Account Managers, Operations/Fulfillment, and strategic acquisition teams to sustain the sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

•Create cost estimates for materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and related construction activities to support Account Managers bidding.
•Develop detailed project scope based on Account Managers’ design-build scope or published plans/specifications for competitive bidding.
•Produce detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, quotes, and points list.
•Perform take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accurate quantities, configurations, voltage, and options.
•Review bid documents and subcontractor proposals for conflicts and constructability issues; lead pre-bid meetings and identify cost savings and risk items.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
•Project Management and/or HVACR related work experience.
•Experience with construction estimating, project bidding, and/or procurement.
•Working knowledge of construction trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and HVAC system, electrical system, and temperature controls operations.
•Understanding of construction methods/practices and ability to communicate with and direct subcontractors to obtain proposal information.
