Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, steering, engines, transmissions, and related systems using tools and test instruments. Maintain and operate company service equipment and handle parts inventory, documentation, and repair orders using a proprietary TRAIT application and iOS device. Independently manage schedules, triage complex repairs, and support customers as a lead technician.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment systems including electrical, brake, cooling, steering, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components.
•Inspect, test, and evaluate defective equipment using tools and instruments; road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
•Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle with safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections; manage parts inventory and equipment and reconcile as needed.
•Document work by completing DOT and repair order forms, uploading pictures of work/parts/findings using an iOS device and the TRAIT application; communicate with management for approvals and purchase order information.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education/certification and experience).
•Possess and supply required hand tools to perform job duties.
•Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
•Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months.
•Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a current DOT medical card with sufficient validity), and hold a valid driver’s license; candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
