Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and families at assigned military installations.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials and coordinate publicized Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars and deliver services via virtual counseling when authorized.
  • •Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, in-services/training, quality improvement committees, and manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • •Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
