Job Summary

Senior OHL Engineer responsible for leading and delivering overhead transmission line designs up to 400kV. You’ll provide technical support across multi-disciplinary projects, engage with clients, model with PLS-CADD, perform structural/load analyses, and contribute to feasibility studies, proposals, and QA deliverables on high-profile UK T&D initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership and support in overhead line design for complex multi-disciplinary projects
•Contribute to large programmes (e.g., National Grid Great Grid Partnership) with technical input and client engagement
•Assist in proposals by detailing timelines, resources, budgets, objectives, and goals
•Provide input throughout project implementation, planning, and public consultation activities
•Perform design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, loading trees, sag-tension calculations, and conductor/insulator selection

Key Requirements

•Professional Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g. IET)
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (electrical/power)
•Experience delivering overhead line projects up to 400kV and with transmission system operators
•Proven client relationship management and business development skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
