Job Summary

Lead embedded firmware engineering for power tool electronics, including ABLDC motor controls, lithium-ion battery management, and chargers. Work within the Electronics & Electrical Systems product development organization supporting Towson, MD and partner closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, and Regulatory. Design, implement, and validate firmware through software development, test, and simulation; create verification/validation plans; and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and peer design.

•Implement and validate electronic designs through software development, test, and simulation.
•Develop software verification and validation procedures using unit and integration tests.
•Provide leadership toward cost, performance, and quality objectives across electronic systems, components, and sub-assemblies.
•Train and mentor junior team members; participate in peer design and code reviews, translating requirements into firmware specifications and communicating progress.

Key Requirements

•BSEE, BSCS, BSCE or equivalent (4 years) from an accredited computer/electrical engineering college.
•10+ years of experience in electronics, software development, and embedded firmware.
•5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded system (bare metal) design.
•Extensive knowledge developing embedded 8bit/16bit/32bit microcontrollers in C, C++, or ASM; ARM architecture preferred.
•Knowledge of embedded software concepts (hard real-time processing, scheduling, multitasking, interrupt processing, RTOS) and microcontroller peripherals (timers, GPIO, watchdog, ADC, UART, DMA).
