Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide engineering services for Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels and Joint Support Ships, including surveys and technical investigations.
  • •Support defects resolution by reporting to the Engineering Services Lead and liaising with the Service Delivery group.
  • •Develop repair specifications, documented work scopes, and technical job instructions for preventive or corrective maintenance.
  • •Manage/planning and coordinate work with Mechanical, Electrical, C4, and Naval Architecture staff and/or subcontractors to meet outcomes.
  • •Perform engineering tasks such as problem investigation, requirements analysis, design calculations, failure analysis, obsolescence assessments, and risk/hazard assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •An engineering degree in naval architecture.
  • •Minimum of 4 years maritime experience in ship repair, ship building, or ship operational experience.
  • •Strong technical knowledge with ability to make technical decisions.
  • •Eligible for P Eng designation in Nova Scotia (preferred).
  • •Ability to obtain authorization for controlled technical information access (including eligibility to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian NATO Secret clearance).
