Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and evolve the privacy platform (GDPR Orchestrator), including core engine, safety mechanisms, audit trail, and operational health such as deploys and observability.
  • •Enable teams with docs, templates, and self-serve tooling so 15+ areas can manage their own data rules and dependencies.
  • •Coordinate requirements across legal, security, data, and data-producing areas; surface cross-area data dependencies and resolve design trade-offs.
  • •Drive open platform design questions to conclusions and grow platform capabilities as Alan’s data products and footprint expand.
  • •Raise the bar on platform safety, observability, and developer experience to support confident adoption as the surface scales.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically 8+ years of senior-level backend or platform software engineering experience with deep production ownership (API/contract design, data modeling, running what you ship).
  • •Built and operated platforms, libraries, or services that other engineers depend on, and care about the contract exposed to them.
  • •Comfort operating across many teams and influencing without authoritarianism to align legal, security, data, and product crews to completion.
  • •Hands-on coding and production operation: write Python/TypeScript, ship to production, then roll out and operate (alerting, on-call, incident response).
  • •Plus: prior privacy, GDPR, or data-governance exposure and experience in an enabling/platform-team operating model.
