Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the Cells and Organizations roadmap, including cell provisioning/lifecycle, routing/topology, organization data migration tooling, and platform feature parity.
  • •Execute cohort-based migrations of customer Organizations to cells with zero data loss, verified rollback, and no downtime outside the tenant in flight.
  • •Define architectural decisions for a multi-cloud, multi-region cell footprint, including what stays cell-local versus crosses boundaries.
  • •Build and run the engineering organization: hire, level, and develop managers and senior ICs across several teams; set the technical bar and operating cadence.
  • •Drive cross-functional commitments and sequencing with Product, Infrastructure, and Security, coordinating asynchronously across time zones.

Key Requirements

  • •Engineering leadership at director scale.
  • •Experience leading multiple teams through managers (roughly 25–60 engineers), including hiring and developing managers.
  • •Track record delivering multi-quarter infrastructure programs with hard external dependencies and complex sequencing across teams.
  • •Comfort operating as a peer to VPs and staff-plus engineers, with the ability to change technical direction when evidence changes.
  • •Deep expertise in production distributed systems, including multi-tenant SaaS, sharded/cell-based architectures, scaling relational databases, data migration at scale, and request routing.
