Job Summary

Join the Utilities & Power Operations team to develop, install, program, and commission telemetry and SCADA field assets across Ontario. You’ll support electrical, controls, and communications systems—troubleshooting telemetry incidents, calibrating instrumentation devices, and ensuring work meets applicable codes. The role includes on-call support (remote and on-site) and frequent travel between stations and reporting offices, with hands-on work protecting natural gas reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, controls, and communications systems and projects, including programming RTUs and managing backup generator programming and ER installations.
•Develop, propose, select, install, calibrate, program, commission, manage, and maintain telemetry/SCADA system components such as station controls, wireless infrastructure, grounding, cabling, and emergency/backup power.
•Respond to telemetry or odourization incidents and outages, coordinate with Gas Control and Station Operations, and produce reports with failure cause analysis and corrective actions.
•Independently troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, repair, and replace electrical, telemetry, and instrumentation equipment, including field calibration and adherence to codes and standards.
•Participate in rotating on-call duties across Ontario with both remote support and physically on-site response, and support internal and external collaborators across the province.

Key Requirements

•College graduate in Instrumentation/Controls and Electrical Technology, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Robotics, Instrumentation, or Boiler & Motor Operation.
•5–7 years of related field experience in telemetry, controls, and/or electrical work.
•Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including reading and interpreting electrical and logic drawings.
•Solid working knowledge of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), PLCs, and Electronic Recording Devices (ERs).
•Ability to respond to 24-hour/7-day on-call rotation and travel across Ontario.
