Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and commercialize new and improved poultry products and processes, including writing product specifications and ensuring regulatory labeling and food safety requirements are met.
  • •Modify and optimize existing products and develop product production labeling specifications while compiling and providing cost analysis information to product management.
  • •Lead cook validation studies by planning, conducting, documenting, and communicating validation results to support food safety, optimized cooking procedures, and consistent restaurant quality.
  • •Execute development work from bench top development and pilot plant testing through scale-up production and final commercialization at full scale production facilities.
  • •Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, insights, sales, culinary, FSQA, operations, purchasing, and ingredient suppliers to ensure smooth start-up and project completion.

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Food Science, Meat Science, Food Engineering, or related field; education/experience requirements vary by Food Scientist I/II and Senior levels (including no-degree experience paths).
  • •Strong understanding of scientific methods, ingredients, product formulation, and food processing, with knowledge to develop innovative food products.
  • •Ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments; report results and build process-capable product specifications.
