Job Summary

Lead cross-squad technical initiatives to design and build modular, globally scalable backend solutions for complex supply chain operations. Job Function: Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Lead cross-squad technical initiatives to design and build modular, globally scalable backend solutions for complex supply chain operations.
•Act as the technical bridge between engineering squads and operational stakeholders (Procurement, Production, Data) to architect reliable, long-term systems.
•Define and drive engineering best practices around system design, code quality, and maintainability across the entire Food Systems Alliance.
•Optimize complex data workflows and event-driven architectures to seamlessly support day-to-day production and scaling needs.
•Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.

Key Requirements

•Extensive backend engineering experience in JVM ecosystems (Kotlin or Java) with distributed systems and microservices architecture
•Proven track record designing and operating highly scalable, event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS
•Ability to translate complex business/operational requirements into actionable technical roadmaps across teams
•Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) and observability practices, with ability to establish tribe-wide standards
•Collaborative, low-ego mindset with strong technical judgment and mentoring ability
