Key Responsibilities

  • •Support development of project proposals by defining requirements, scope, resourcing, programme, and budget.
  • •Create and maintain project documentation (project plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, schedules), taking ownership on smaller projects and supporting Senior Project Managers on larger work.
  • •Monitor progress to drive delivery against agreed timelines and keep projects on track.
  • •Manage project costs day-to-day, including tracking time, budgets, forecasts, and spend.
  • •Ensure health and safety requirements are in place for site visits and support contract management and administration.
  • •Proactively manage change and risk with technical teams to keep projects aligned with scope, contractual requirements, and governance standards.
  • •Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and champion environmental outcomes, supporting sustainability and net zero ambitions.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager within a project or PMO environment in environmental or sustainability sectors.
  • •Understanding of programme management principles, including work breakdown structures, dependencies, and critical path.
  • •Ability to manage budgets and track performance, with experience delivering projects within budget and support effective change control (NEC3/4 advantageous).
  • •Confident communicator (written and verbal) who can keep project teams and stakeholders well informed.
  • •Working towards or holding membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS).
