Job Summary

Provide technical expertise to identify, define, and solve industrial hygiene problems across Trail Operations. Assess and perform occupational health testing, lead and coordinate industrial hygiene programs and projects, and communicate actionable recommendations. Conduct monitoring for air quality, noise, ventilation, biological monitoring, gas testing, and exposure sampling. Partner with operations and other stakeholders on hazard investigations, capital projects, and incident support. Maintain and improve procedures, programs, records, and compliance for multiple occupational health areas.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
•Lead and support industrial hygiene programs and initiatives to improve workplace health, reduce exposure risks, and enhance operational performance.
•Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments (air quality, noise, ventilation, biological monitoring, gas testing, exposure sampling) and analyze results with recommendations.
•Partner with operations, maintenance, contractors, leadership, and union representatives to identify hazards, investigate exposure concerns, and implement effective controls.
•Develop and continuously improve industrial hygiene procedures, monitoring programs, quality assurance processes, exposure databases, and documentation; manage occupational health programs for areas including asbestos, hearing conservation, indoor air quality, and respiratory protection.

Key Requirements

•Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in health and safety or a science-related field (e.g., chemistry, biology, environmental science), with preference for industrial hygiene education.
•Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and associated technical standards.
•Knowledge of Trail Operations plants, including their layout and basic processes.
•Ability to perform physically demanding work across all plants and facilities at Trail Operations, including afterhours/weekend work for emergency needs.
•Good interpersonal skills for effective communication and ability to work independently and in teams across departments.
