Job Summary

Lead process engineering and hydraulic design for mining infrastructure projects, focusing on pumping systems, pipeline networks, and water management. Own technical delivery, define system philosophy (operating scenarios, surge and overpressure protection), and provide technical assurance across multidisciplinary teams in Australia and India. Produce core design deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, material balances, hazard/SIL assessments, and commissioning support, while mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and analysis of pumping systems and pipeline/network systems (water, slurry, dewatering), including defining system philosophy and operating scenarios.
•Provide technical assurance and review of key deliverables for mining infrastructure projects supporting raw water, mine water management, dewatering, tailings transport, reclaim water, and slurry transport systems.
•Undertake process design deliverables including concept layouts, process descriptions and design basis, material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and hydraulic calculations.
•Perform and validate safety and risk assessments including hazardous area classification, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessment, pressure relief design, and commissioning plans/support.
•Mentor engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces, and support proposals via cost and manhour estimates while ensuring compliance with WSP and relevant codes/standards.

Key Requirements

•13–16 years of experience in process engineering.
•Bachelor’s degree required; preferred master’s in mechanical engineering.
•Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
•Experience working in a LEAN environment.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
