Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead structural engineering delivery of projects or significant elements across concept/feasibility, detailed design, construction, and completion.
  • •Develop efficient, economical, and robust structural solutions that meet client requirements, standards, legislation, and best practice.
  • •Design structural schemes using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber as appropriate, and prepare/review structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and schedules.
  • •Review engineers’ and technicians’ work to ensure technical accuracy, coordination, and quality; manage scope, programme, resources, technical risk, and quality.
  • •Coordinate structural design with architects, civil and building services engineers, geotechnical specialists, and other disciplines; attend meetings and provide technical input.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • •Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • •Professional membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
  • •Demonstrable post-Chartership experience in structural engineering design and project delivery.
  • •Ability to take increasing ownership of projects and strengthen client relationships.
