Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts, solving emergent supplier challenges and mitigating manufacturing and quality risk to the program manifest.
  • •Review issues to determine root cause, implement changes at suppliers and/or SpaceX, drive actions to closure, and re-source to new suppliers when needed.
  • •Drive technical product improvements and engineering drawing updates to reduce defects and improve manufacturability, lead times, and cost.
  • •Own new product introduction for parts and assemblies, including selecting manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and ramping to rate for new or changing parts.
  • •Lead the production part approval process (PPAP) and run containment activities to support stable supply and resolution of defects.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in a production environment (including school projects, clubs, or internships).
  • •Hands-on experience with machining and ancillary operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and cutting materials.
  • •Experience interpreting engineering drawings, models, and applying GD&T principles.
  • •Disciplined problem-solving (e.g., 8D) and ability to communicate status and needed actions across the organization.
