Key Responsibilities

  • •Custodian compliance for refractory equipment and installation standards for refractory-protected assets.
  • •Facilitate root cause analysis and failure mode criticality analysis, and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
  • •Analyze operational data and equipment performance to reduce unscheduled downtime, improve PM compliance/schedule compliance, and increase MTBF/MTTR targets.
  • •Develop and maintain refractory maintenance and condition monitoring approaches, including optimized use of asset life prediction methodologies and spares optimization.
  • •Support budgeting and capital planning with cost/schedule estimates and provide technical advice and audit support across integrity and reliability objectives.

Key Requirements

  • •In-depth knowledge of refractory technology, processes, and refractory codes/standards.
  • •Ability to troubleshoot complex refractory equipment issues and critically assess inspection reports and standards application.
  • •Understanding of Reliability/Integrity Engineering and preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • •More than 5 years of refractory maintenance experience in relevant plant-equivalent positions.
  • •Knowledge of steel making process and material handling equipment (Direct Reduction, Steel Melting, Billet Casting, Re-bar rolling).
