Job Summary

Seeking a senior mechanical engineer to design, analyze, and document hardware for defense systems, leading component and assembly modeling, design changes, and release processes. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex mechanical challenges, mentor junior engineers, and support product integration across domestic and international sites in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop mechanical hardware for radars, support equipment, and electronics across the product lifecycle, including proposal, advanced development, design, cooling, manufacturing, integration, and testing.
•Lead small teams in a fast-paced environment, focusing on ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, electronics packaging, tooling and/or array integration.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and develop effective design solutions; independently manage tasks to meet schedule, budget, and technical goals.
•Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies to support informed engineering decisions; mentor less experienced engineers.
•Provide product integration support across domestic and international factories and supplier locations to ensure requirements compliance.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
•Experience in the creation, review and interpretation of technical documentation utilized in the development or production of hardware or tooling products.
•Experience in mechanical design, advanced design development, manufacturing or tooling processes, or related areas.
•Experience in the development, creation, release, or updates of engineering drawings utilizing a 3D CAD design tool.
•Willingness to travel (domestic and international) and ability to work onsite in Portsmouth, RI.
