Job Summary

Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental policies for the Subsea Production Systems site in Nailsea. Drive compliance with HSE regulations, run audits and inspections (including ISO 45001/14001), and oversee incident, risk, and environmental management. Partner with operations and support functions to mature HSE culture, deliver training, and provide clear reporting and mentorship to the site HSE team.

•Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures, keeping them aligned to legal requirements and industry best practices.
•Manage compliance through monitoring, audits, and inspections; lead ISO 45001/14001 surveillance audits and site HSE governance processes.
•Design and deliver HSE training, lead safety meetings and workshops, and drive HSE initiatives across the site and product line.
•Manage and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and preventive measures while promoting Human Performance techniques.
•Conduct risk assessments, oversee environmental management systems, define waste reduction strategies, and prepare HSE reports for senior management.

Key Requirements

•Defined experience of manufacturing HSE or a related field (e.g., Defence or Aerospace), with strong HSE management experience in manufacturing or oil and gas sectors.
•Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
•Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
•Tactical knowledge of Human Factors and best available techniques.
•Certification in NEBOSH (or equivalent) is preferred; member of IOSH and possess or be working towards CMIOSH status.
