Key Responsibilities

  • •Support Aerodynamics through methods including wind tunnel testing and computational analysis to analyse and optimise aircraft design for safe operation.
  • •Contribute to Design Engineering by producing integrated airframe design definition and physical product design datasets, including stakeholder liaison, bill of materials management, and CAD definition.
  • •Assist Materials Engineering with analysis, qualification and testing of materials, investigation of material properties/failures, and support for new materials development.
  • •Support Structures Engineering by performing structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and structural life of BAE Systems platforms.
  • •Work within the wider Air team supporting aircraft design, production, and in-service support across programmes such as Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Hold or be predicted to obtain a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or Maths.
  • •Be eligible to meet Baseline Personnel Security Standard for the role.
  • •Prepare to attend the site 4–5 days per week.
  • •Be ready to learn across the four Airframe Engineering disciplines: Aerodynamics, Design, Materials, and Structures.
  • •Work effectively across analysis, design definition, qualification/testing, and structural integrity validation tasks.
