Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the safeguarding framework, ensuring ongoing alignment with FCA requirements and guidance.
  • •Oversee daily safeguarding reconciliations for safeguarded funds and segregated accounts, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of breaks.
  • •Develop, maintain, and regularly update safeguarding policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • •Partner with Finance, Operations, and Compliance to embed safeguarding controls into business-as-usual processes, including new products and scaling initiatives.
  • •Monitor safeguarding risks, define controls and monitoring, escalate issues or breaches with remediation plans, and manage safeguarding-related audits and regulator engagement.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in accounting, finance, or a related field or above.
  • •Strong background in finance, treasury, or financial operations within regulated financial services, payments, or fintech environments.
  • •Solid understanding of FCA safeguarding rules and guidance for EMIs and/or PIs under the EMRs/PSRs.
  • •Hands-on experience with reconciliations, safeguarding reporting, and maintaining governance documentation.
  • •Ability to identify safeguarding risks early, influence stakeholders, and drive issues through to resolution in a fast-paced environment.
