Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment, taking regular readings and making system adjustments to maintain safe operating parameters.
  • •Operate and maintain plant utilities and production floor freezers, adjusting temperatures to meet product requirements.
  • •Document daily logs of operations and repairs, flag potential problems, and communicate updates to incoming shift and production managers.
  • •Follow all company rules including GMPs, Safety, PPE, Lock Out-Tag Out, PSM, and USDA/FDA requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •3-5 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial, high-volume food processing facility, especially frozen foods.
  • •Electrical troubleshooting and schematic reading experience.
  • •Mechanical trade skills and required hand tools for mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • •Ability to plumb copper, plastic, tubing, and threaded pipe for refrigeration or plant utility piping.
  • •High School Diploma or GED, plus formal ammonia refrigeration training by an accredited school (HVAC certification may qualify for entry-level apprentices).
