Job Summary

Design and review electrical and ICA elements for wastewater and water infrastructure projects across all stages—from feasibility through construction design. Lead technical delivery by preparing calculations, diagrams, instrument schedules, load schedules, and PLC/SCADA-related documentation, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. Support bid preparation, ensure designs meet national and international standards, and mentor junior engineers. Use and help shape digital design tools such as BIM and Projectwise.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake electrical and ICA design and reviews for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects.
•Create and review key electrical documentation including load schedules, single line diagrams, MCC general arrangements, instrument schedules, and cable calculations.
•Develop and support PLC/SCADA-related deliverables including control philosophy, URS, specifications, and technical reports.
•Engage in feasibility through construction design stages, ensuring compliance with national and international design standards.
•Support bids and deliver quality client outputs (calculations, drawings, and technical reports), while mentoring more junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables with multidisciplinary knowledge, ideally including treatment schemes.
•BEng or MEng in a related engineering field with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) member of a relevant professional institution.
•Proven experience working at senior engineer level at a consultancy within the water sector.
•Experience managing projects, delegating tasks, and providing technical mentoring.
